Welcome to Welwyn Garden City Ski Race Club!

We are a ski race training club based at the dry slope on Gosling Sports Park in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire. Our ski race team competes regionally and nationally at ski race events. We train throughout the year on Friday evenings 7-9pm, and we welcome skiers of all ages, from 6 years to adults.

What are we all about?

We are based at Gosling Ski Centre and aim to promote the sport of ski racing through fun, skilful and safe ski training. We have a dedicated team of coaches that help develop our ski racers to reach their full potential.

The club introduces novices to the sport and helps develop established racers. Our skiers’ age range is from 6 through to adults. Club members compete in the summer season races, which run annually from April to September, organised by Eastern Region Snowsports Association (ERSA), as well as Club National and Tri Regions races.

We also encourage and advise those skiers interested in competing in Alpine competitions during the winter season, and who may wish to do training camps in the Alps with one of the many good ski academies.

WGC Ski Race Club has trained some skiers that have gone on to win several medals and trophies on the Alpine circuit.

Friday night race training at Welwyn is absolutely fantastic. There's always such a fun and friendly atmosphere, and my skiing has improved a lot too!

The Club is an affiliated member of Snowsport England and part of the Eastern Region Snowsports Association (ERSA). We participate in both Regional and National races.

Race Training

Weekly training sessions run throughout the year on Friday nights 19:00 to 21:00, generally following the school term dates. Click the “Book Now” button on the bottom right of this page to book.

Our Ski Race Club welcomes all levels of ski race ability, from those looking to start out on an exciting ski race journey to those with some race experience (possibly with school), all the way through to experienced ski racers on snow or dry slope.
